Treaty 1 Territory

Honouring Traditional Lands

We acknowledge that we are gathered on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We honour the deep relationships Indigenous Peoples have with this land—relationships that have existed since time immemorial.

The Land as Teacher and Healer

"It remembers the footsteps of our ancestors and offers medicine to those who listen."

At Debwewin Wellness Centre, we walk gently on this land, with gratitude in our hearts. We know that healing does not happen apart from the land — it happens because of it. The trees, the waters, the winds — all are teachers here.

We will care for this place as it cares for us, guided by the wisdom of Elders and Knowledge Keepers. Our commitment is to leave the land stronger, more vibrant, and more alive for the next ones who come seeking healing.
